Chris & Allison's Adventure
Luminaria

Kobe Winter Illumination

December 23rd, 2001

A group from Allison's school headed for the nearby city of Kobe on Dec. 23rd to see the famous Luminaria -- a street lit up with millions of lights on archways, designed by a famous Italian artist.

Although we had to walk like cattle for over an hour in huge crowds to eventually reach the illuminated area, it was well worth the wait.

There were quite a few amazing food vendors!

Everything from octopus, shell fish, yakitori (chicken on sticks), okinomiyaki (very popular fried cabbage, egg and flour combo) and other unknown foods.

They had something that looked like a foot-long hotdog, however, it only LOOKED like a foot-long . . . the taste was something entirely different! --We still don't know exactly what it was supposed to be!

Some kind of Shell fish food vendor.
