Chris & Allison's Adventure
Everyday Scenes

Here are some things that we see everyday.

Here's a photo of a Japanese toilet. We were very happy to discover that most washrooms have at least one Western style toilet to choose from. Don't forget to carry tissue with you... not all the washrooms supply toilet paper!! You also need to carry a hankerchief, most washrooms do not supply paper towels or air dryers for your hands.

If's Fine, Your Car Life

Many English translations here are quite humourous. There are several signs that don't quite make sense! There is one sign at our train station (above) that we were unsure of the meaning. At first we thought maybe it was for an Autoshop or Mechanic. We recently found out it actually for a Driver Training School!

There are school kids everywhere!! There seems to be children going to or coming from school all day. Many of them seem too young to be out on the trains alone, but they seem pretty confident in themselves. They all wear uniforms that are usually only different based on which school they attend, but most of them are blue. These young schoolgirls (below) were all pretending to talk on the payphones while waiting for the train. The children here are pretty cute!

At our train station. We catch our train here everyday and are very lucky to be able to watch the ducks and cranes in the river while we wait! A very beautiful and relaxing spot!

There are lots of arcades around. Many have reality games like playing drums, piano, guitar, and even dancing. This picture of the dancing game was taken just outside of an arcade. Later that night there was a crowd of young people around this game watching people do it. Some of them were pretty amazing! The object is to follow the arrows on the screen to the arrows on the floor pad all to the beat of the music! Allison would try it if she knew nobody was watching!
