We were all very moved by the memorial sites in Hiroshima City.  The Peace Memorial Museum was very large and informative.  Some of the displays in the museum were enough to make you cry, which in fact we did.  We really wondered how something like this could have ever taken place.  There is a real need, especially in this day and age, to pray for PEACE.

About a half-hour outside the city, there is Miyajima.  It's a small tourist island that has a famous Shrine (Itsuku-shima-jinja) with a shrine gate (Torii) that appears to be floating in the water.  Miyajima has been called one of the three most beautiful places in Japan.  We agree!  To this date, it's our favourite spot in all of Japan!
